Hal finally came out from beneath the couch this morning. He met with a rain shower and now refuses to leave the safety of the realm beneath the bed. He appears to have forgiven Hotspur, as he allowed him to share the sanctuary after they both met the dreaded water. The showers seem to have passed for now.

When Hotspur requested breakfast at two in the morning by means of claws and teeth, I briefly desired that he'd feed himself. Twelve minutes later, I was the only thing between him and Hal. He has since been confined to my bedroom, and Hal still refuses to emerge from beneath the couch.
